Gaining quality muscle is not as hard as many guys make it out to be. As long as you have a few simple things in place you’ll be on your way to gaining quality muscle mass.

The key here is to keep it simple. Don’t over complicate your training (basic, proven movements ALWAYS win), eat enough calories to grow (which means keep it clean), and get enough down time. You can’t train 6 days a week for 3 hours a day forever – especially. Make sure sleep is a big part of your recovery plan.

  1. Nutrition. Makes sure your nutrition consists of calorie-dense, quality food. This means no shitty weight gainer shakes. Shop on the outside of the supermarket. This is where all your eggs, meat, fatty fish, veggies, clean complex carbs, etc are. Once you go in the isles, your in trouble.
  2. Recovery. You must recover from your hard workouts. If you’re not, you wont grow like you should. This means getting enough quality sleep, taking planned days off from lifting as part of your program, and eating right.
  3. Training. Train for your goal. If you want to be a crossfitter, you would do crossfit (not sure why you’d want to do that). If you want get as jacked as possible, build strength, and eventually get lean, you would find a bodybuilding program. Simple as that.
  4. Consistency. You can’t expect to get huge by taking days off, program jumping, or switching nutrition programs before you actually assess your progress. Record everything, so you know exactly what’s working and what’s not so you can make moves accordingly.
